'Sorry' is probably the most spoken word in the UK.

Sorry means ‘excuse me’', sorry means ‘hey!’, sorry can mean 'no'. Sorry can be quite aggressive as in 'Sorry, mate, but we were here first'.

People start a criticism with sorry. They say sorry if they cannot hear you. They even say sorry if someone else pushes against them when they are innocently standing still.
